Mon 8 Oct 2018: Matt Murray was injured with concussion during a team practice. The injury was announced October 9th via the Penguins' Twitter.
Sat 13 Oct 2018: Matt Murray dressed as backup for the game against the Habs. He did not go in, Casey DeSmith played the full game. In the first period, Justin Schultz had to be helped off the ice after a hit against the boards, when his left ankle seemed to buckle awkwardly. He later had surgery to repair a left lower-leg fracture & he expected to be out for 4 months.
Sat 27 Oct 2018: Kris Letang seemed injured from a knee-on-knee hit. He went to the dressing room for medical treatment, but returned to the game soon after. Derick Brassard was scratched from the game due a lower-body injury he had been trying to play through. The date of the injury was not reported.
Mon 29 Oct 2018: Kris Letang left practice early due to a "nagging injury" suffered during Saturday's game. He was a "game time decision" & did not play in Tuesday's game again the New York Islanders. Derick Brassard was absent from practice & was ruled out for the game.

Sat 7 Oct 2017: Ian Cole took a puck to the face in the first period in a game against the Preds as he was dropping to block a shot. He was clearly injured on the play as he was bleeding profusely and lost several teeth. Incredibly, he did not break his jaw.

Wed 19 Sep 2016: Matt Murray suffers an injury during the World Cup vs Team Russia.[2] First believed to be a thumb injury, it was revealed Murray had a broken hand on 24 September. He was given a 3-6 week recovery timeline.[3]
Mon 10 Oct 2016: Sidney Crosby is diagnosed with a concussion. Status is day-to-day.[4] The injury occured Friday 7 October during a pre-season practise.
Tue 18 Oct 2016: Kris Letang leaves a game @ Montreal with an upper body injury. Conor Sheary leaves a game @ Montreal with an eye injury. Both are day-to-day.[5]
Thu 20 Oct 2016: Derrick Pouliot and Olli Maatta both leave a game vs the Sharks with undisclosed injuries. The nex day, Pouliot is put on IR, while Maatta is cleared to play the next game. [6]

Wed 8 March 2017: The Penguins announce that Patric Hornqvist had been sent back to Pittsburgh from an extended road trip because of a concussion. It is unknown if Hornqvist was hurt in a game or practice.

Sat 11 March 2017: The Pens announced that Carl Hagelin would be out of the lineup. Hagelin is wearing a foot brace and walking on crutches. It's assumed he got hurt in Winnipeg and aggravated the injury in Edmonton.

Tue 21 March 2017: Jake Guentzel was the recipient of an ugly hit from Sabres defenceman Ristolanen that had him out for the rest of the game. The Penguins announced he's been diagnosed with a concussion.
Fri 24 March 2017: Bryan Rust returned to the lineup for the first time since Feb 9. The Penguins announced Scott Wilson is out with injury.
Sun 26 March 2017: Scott Wilson returned to the lineup after only a one-game absence. Chad Ruhwedel was out of the lineup because of injury. Conor Sheary was injured on a play and did not return in the game. Brian Dumoulin took an elbow to the head but remained in the game.
Fri 31 March 2017: Jake Guenztel returned to the lineup after a concussion and missing 4 games. Ron Hainsey also returned to the lineup after missing 7.
Sat 1 April 2017: The Penguins announce that Chris Kunitz will be out of the lineup with a lower body injury. Expected to be longterm.
Tue 4 April 2017: Scott Wilson, Bryan Rust, and Matt Cullen were all injured during a game against the Blue Jackets and had to leave the bench. Only Wilson returned. None of them would miss the next game.
Wed 5 April 2017: The Penguins announced that Kris Letang is suffering from a herniated disc in his neck that will require surgery. He is estimated to be out for 4-6 months.[8]
Thu 6 April 2017: Trevor Daley returned to the lineup after knee surgery and a 20-game absence.
Sun 9 April 2017: Olli Maatta returned to the lineup after hand surgery and a 25-game absence.
Wed 12 April 2017: Evgeni Malkin returned to the Penguins lineup in time for Game 1 of the playoffs after a 13-game absence. Matt Murray was injured or re-injured during warmups before the game and did not play.
Thu 27 April 2017: Chris Kunitz returned to the lineup for game 1 of round 2 vs the Capitals. It was his first playoff game of 2017.
Sat 29 April 2017: Carl Hagelin returned to the lineup for the first time since 11 March. He missed 22 games.
Mon 1 May 2017: Sidney Crosby suffered a concussion after a slash to the back of his head by Alex Ovechkin and a cross-check to the side of his head by Matt Niskanen, all on the same play.[9] Conor Sheary also suffered a concussion after colliding with Patric Hornqvist.
Sat 6 May 2017: Both Sidney Crosby and Conor Sheary returned to the lineup after having been diagnosed with a concussion a piece only five days previously.
Wed 17 May 2017: Trevor Daley returned to the lineup, while Justin Shultz and Bryan Rust who were both injured the previous game, both did not play due to injury. Patric Hornqvist also did not play for the second straight game.
Fri 19 May 2017: Chad Ruhwedel got a concussion when hit in the head by Bobby Ryan's elbow.
Mon 29 May 2017: Patric Hornqvist returned to the lineup after a 6-game absence.
Wed 31 May 2017: Nick Bonino broke his tibia while blocking a PK Subban shot. He played two periods through the injury.
