In the Room is a PensTV production about the Pittsburgh Penguins. The camera crew follows the team and the players through the regular season and into the playoffs. The series has won a number of Emmys.

It's play-offs time and the Penguins are facing a team they've never face before in play-offs, the New York Islanders. Having been unable to win more than four games in the first round of play-offs for three seasons, the pressure is on as the Penguins look to break that trend. It's Game One and the Penguins come out firing, with Beau Bennett getting his first NHL play-off goal. The Peguins shut the Islanders out. Sidney Crosby is back for Game Two, returning from a broken jaw and scores 13 minutes into the game. The Islanders take the second game, however. The Penguins travel to Long Island for Game Three which ends in a tie score. Extra time decides the winner and Chris Kunitz becomes a hero, winning it for the Penguins. It's Round One and the Penguins take on a very familiar first-round foe in the New York Rangers. It’s the final hurdle in a long season and the Penguins reflect on the emotional highs and lows of the regular season’s journey and their path through play-offs. As the Stanley Cup Final against the San Jose Sharks draws closer, the Penguins host Media Day and offer their insight into their opponents and what it means to play in the SC Final. Practice is ratcheted up in intensity and it’s a tug of war affair as the Penguins take on the Sharks, who keep their hopes alive by forcing a sixth game. The Penguins are then tasked with travelling back to San Jose. Brian Dumoulin scores the first goal of the game, with Kris Letang and Patric Hornqvist adding to the Penguins tally, ultimately earning the Penguins their fourth Stanley Cup in franchise history. Sidney Crosby is awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as play-off MVP and lifts the Stanley Cup before passing it on to injured Trevor Daley. It’s revealed that Daley’s mother was terminally ill at the time and her ultimate wish was to see her son lift the Cup. The players are joined by their families and friends for on-ice celebrations before they make it back to the locker room. Once back in Pittsburgh, the Penguins attend a parade hosted by the city. With an estimated 400 000 people in attendance, it’s deemed Pittsburgh’s largest ever sports parade. It’s the start of the 50th chapter in Penguins history as the 2016 – 2017 season begins.
