Stanley Cup Edit

The Pittsburgh Penguins have won a total of five Stanley Cups. Four of these were back to back in 1990-1991 and 1991-1992, and 2015-2016 and 2016-2017. In 2017, the Penguins became the first team to win the Cup back to back in the salary cap era, and the first team in nineteen years to complete the feat.

The Penguins became the Stanley Cup champions in Game 6 against the Nashville Predators in Nashville. The score was 2-0. Patric Hornqvist, who was drafted by Nashville in 2005 with the very last pick, scored the game-winning goal for Pittsburgh. Matt Murray became the only goalie rookie in history to have won two Cups.
